Works to get an aging dog in and out of a car
We decided to buy a pet ramp when we noticed our 14 year old hound mix was starting to have difficulty on some days getting into and out of the car (subaru outback). This coupled with the slight hitch in her giddy up we figured it was better to be proactive. This ramp seemed to fit all that we needed. I will say that it does take up much more room then I thought it would folded but it's not unreasonable. You could slide it between seats. You will most likely have to train your dog to get them used to this. This can be done fairly easily with a bunch of treats and a clicker (or even just a well times 'good'). I suggest starting with the ramp open and laying flat on the ground. Treat the dog each time they run across it and give them a command (we use 'ramp'). Then slightly elevate the one end and repeat the process. Keep raising the ramp slightly until it's to the height of your car and you should have no problem getting your treat obsessed pup to run up and down it. It will sound like it's slippery but it's really not once they learn how to use it properly. It will take time. We had one 20 minute training session going from flat to car before my 60lb dog happily ran up and down the ramp, but now she loves it and I'm no longer hoisting a 60 lb wet and muddy wiggling dog into and out of my car. It's a win win.

It's very light
Well...what can I say? My Basset Hound is used to using a ramp to get in and out of the hatch of my Jeep so there was no problem introducing this new and lighter one. I left it sitting in the hallway so he could get used to smelling it etc and then used it properly to take him to a groomer. He refused! However I got him up it with a promised treat but he didn't like the noise or the slipperiness of it. I think it will work without breaking where the join is to fold the ramp but I am planning on trying to stick something, perhaps some lightweight carpet, to help his paws grip the surface. Because he's a Basset he is very laid-back and I am able to coerce him into doing my will but he isn't very happy about it at the moment. We'll see when I change the surface. It's not a bad ramp for the price but could have a better surface.

Lasted 1 year and 10 months
It took my lab 6 months to consider using the ramp…she prefers to jump in but after two knee surgeries her get up and go got up and went. Just recently started using it more. Today it snapped in half…not even at the joint but the plastic itself gave way.I’m debating on trying this one again or trying a different ramp. Anyone have suggestions.MichaelScott

It's work, but cat is afraid after fall.
I bought this for my cat's birthday. It's slick for and she has no support from her missing toe bones and claws. Because some jerk vet and former owner declawed her ! Please, do not declaw ( de knuckle) your pets. thepawproject.org for more information.Any who, she is scared of it after slipping. It's too rough on her sensitive paws and shestartedchew at her back after a spasm. Poor baby.I will have get silicone mates, or carpet squares . Then Velcro it down for support.I put up against a 30 inches stack of heavy plastic containers. It's pretty sturdy , heavy plastic . I got it behind my sofa chair.I suggest people getting this for loading their fur babies in the vehicles. Get a hook , stretch ties.I think it be slippery for dogs with their claws.I might get few door mates to put on the ramp. I will have measure it.

I use it everyday
I have 2 large dogs. One is elderly and one is blind and deaf. They love it. It makes their lives much easier getting into the truck bed. You may want to put some kind of strips on it to keep their feet from slipping. I have not yet, but I am going to put some little 1" pieces of carpet strips just for traction. I am not sure where you are suppose to put the top end, at first I tried putting it up on the actual tailgate, but that made it too steep for them to climb. So then I lowered it down where the ball and hitch are and that works perfectly. My blind/deaf dog climbs that thing like a champ. I just had to show her once. I definitely recommend.

Not a bad ramp, but needs better traction
It's taking some work to get our elderly dog to trust this ramp. We're progressing slowly with him, because the surface of the ramp doesn't allow for a very good grip, and he feels insecure on it. We want to be careful to keep the experience positive. We're experimenting with different things to put on the ramp for better traction. He will climb the ramp enough to get all four feet on it, but his feet start to slide, and he won't go all the way into the car.The ramp is compact and light weight, and easy to fold up and put into the back of the car. It actually seems quite stable when set up for such a light ramp. The only issue seems to be the lack of traction. If the ramp had better footing, I would have given it five stars.

Comfortable w/ my 70lbs dog going up and down.
The media could not be loaded. The plastic ramp has lines cut into it, but it’s not grippy in the slightest. The grooves make for little edges their claws can grip for traction. Definitely much better suited for a very low angle. *while folded, it’s about the size you imagined, but bigger. Haha.* It’s affordable, lightweight, but it does take up a footprint. I drive a Tucson with the back seats folded down for the dog to ride comfortably, so the ramp tucks into the nook behind driver seat and folded rear passenger seat. It’s sturdy enough I’m comfortable with my 70lbs dog going up and down at the angle it rests.Recent edit 5/7/20:Dog refuses to use it. While I’m comfortable him going up and down on it, he absolutely hates it. This is a dog the rappels 100+ ft while attached to me. He goes white water rafting with me. He’s definitely and adventure dog, but hates this. I think that says a lot. Would be a much better product if it had a a better surface with increased traction. Maybe a rubber pad with the grooves. But then you have increased cost. All in all, good for price
