Birkenstock is famous for their shoes with "true-to-life" arch support, and now you can get that support in almost any flat shoe. The naturally contoured, longitudinal arch provides pronation control, while a metatarsal arch gently lifts toes to their natural position. As the insoles are worn, the heat and weight of the body molds the natural cork / EVA, making it more flexible and offering a combination of comfort and support. Recommended for shoes with removable insoles......

Greatest foot-aid I've had
I love these footbeds. I am a mailman, so I am out walking all day long. I developed a good case of Plantar Fasciitis close to two years ago, and my doctor recommended I try these out. After a few weeks of wearing these inside my shoes for work it cleared up and I have had no issue with it since. These easily switch between shoes and boots that I have. I'm probably on two years with the same pair, and they are getting a little worn down (but very usable) and I just ordered my second pair. Only note is that on certain pairs of shoes or boots (usually my work-related ones) you may have to swap out the insoles with something a little flatter or less-thick since these will raise your foot up a little bit inside the shoe causing it to feel a little tight right in front of the ankle. Also, when you first use them it might feel a little wierd on the balls of your feet, but give it a few days and you'll get used to them and probably feel less foot pain.

Amazing feel... cheap looking satin
These are truly amazing. The Birkenstock website doesn’t give very much clarity to the differences between all of their (many different) inserts. I ordered two different Birkenstock insert styles because I figured that there must be a reason for the different varieties even if they lack on their website descriptions. So I ordered this pair and the Birko Balance pair. I will say that I much prefer the look and feel of the Birko balance inserts over these; the perforated moleskin seemed a much higher quality than this shiny satin, which in my opinion seems cheap. The satin seems like it might be peeling away from the edge of the heel on only the second use but it’s early to tell. What I will say is that they are amazing on my feet and offer more arch support for high arches than the Birko Balance inserts. I really wanted to like the other ones better based on looks but these ones are more supportive for my high arches. They remind me more of the support I feel while wearing Birkenstock sandals.

Improved the fit and long term comfort of every shoe I have ever used them in--worth every penny.
I've used this type of Birkenstock insert for over 20 years....possibly as long as 25. I have at least a half dozen pairs two of which date to my first purchases of them in the 1990's. The oldest are so worn the blue cloth that gives them their name is gone entirely from the tops. All that is visible is the cork lining material which is slowly thinning at the heel. As they thinned I noted that they also became somewhat more flexible but they still get use in my least worn shoes and slippers. The arch remained intact. I have never seen the need to throw a pair away. The newer sets get switched between shoes all the time as needed. I have used them in styles of footwear ranging from slip-ons to hiking boots and though they are pricey their durability compensates for the initial expense. They have seen service in both long hours of standing at work as well as during many miles of long distance hiking. I am habituated to their feel after all these years and consider them essential now given that the typical pair of shoes these days comes with little or no arch support. When I put a pair of these in a brand new shoe it feels exactly like all the rest of the shoes that preceded it. I usually just insert and wear these on top of any padded lining already in any new pair of shoes but I suppose one could put them under those linings for a bit softer feel. That said--and though they are very stiff especially when new--it has never bothered me to have them in direct contact with my feet even for long periods of time. I regularly hike wet areas in which my boots and socks become saturated. Apparently these are entirely waterproof because once dried on my boot dryer they appear none the worse for wear. One pair has been through many such wet dry cycles and still shows no signs of deterioration.
