They are made from thin plywood, and the designs are engraved into the wood. I painted them with gesso first to prevent the paints from bleeding, and it worked perfectly.The kit includes 9 round wooden mandalas, along with twine for hanging them. Each mandala has two holes for the twine and features 9 different designs. Additionally, there are 9 sturdy plastic stencils included, which can be washed and reused if handled carefully.This is a fantastic kit at a great price! I wouldn’t be able to make this set for just $13! I love it and am thoroughly enjoying painting them!
