OK but not great.
I read the Eoin Colfer book "The Legend of Spud Murphy" to some of my 2nd grade library classes and they begged for more. I tried telling them that it wasn't part of a series but they kept after me, so I ordered another Legend of book. I have to say, they did not really enjoy this book and haven't asked for another. If Spud had more adventures, I would buy them in a second! "Worst Boy in the World" just missed the mark.

My 7 year old son loved it. Uses lots of British terms that mean different things in the US, but we had fun discussing what different words mean in different countries. It was a fun read!

I felt like it could have been a bit better , but my daughters laughed and had a good time
My oldest daughter was sick for a week. She was so down, that I wanted something lighthearted to read to her while she was feeling crummy. This fit perfectly. It's a silly story about a boy from a large family who never gets to share his woes with his parents because the line is just too long.He makes a deal with his grandpa, that he can complain to him, but he has to choose the BEST worst thing that happened that week and share only that. The boy then excitedly anticipates bad things so he can then share that with his grandpa. The problem is, according to their deal, grandpa then gets to share HIS worst story if he has one. Naturally Grandpa has a bigger pool to draw from and is always one-upping his grandson. That is, until our boy is reminded of a story that happens when he was very young. It's quite a silly story though it doesn't really fit the flow of the rest of this book.I felt like it could have been a bit better , but my daughters laughed and had a good time. I guess it's a keeper for them

well-written
Another fun book by Eoin Colfer. I did like his "Legend of Spud Murphy" better, but that could have been because I read "Spud Murphy" first. My 8-year-old loved it. I think it's good for 7 - 10 year olds. The illustrations by McCoy are great.

Funny!!
Picked this for my 8yr old as a change from secret seven. Its tricky to find something thats not too old and scary but also isnt far too young and 'babyish'. This fits the bill great! Very funny and perfect for listening to just before bed.
