It just makes sense.
I was turned on to braided line by a friend of mine. And i never went back. It for the simple fact it makes sense. If i can have 150 yards of 50 lb test line in the same space as 150 years of 12 lb test why wouldn't you want to use braided line. When i go surf fishing i make my line up is i use the braided line for my main line and then i use 20 lb test monofilament for my leader. That way my leader is my weak point on my fishing line and i don't risk damaging the rod and reel. My opinion is tho is if you are going to fishing pan fish braided line is to strong. a good monofilament line is great so that way the line is more likely to break at the point of the snag instead of having to cut you line at the pole.

A Superior Fishing Line
Originally recommended to me by a professional fishing guide, I have used Power Pro braid line for over 9 years now and have not found any other brand that performs as well. It is extremely flexible and has no line-memory. It is so abrasion resistant that it will hold up for more than a year of weekly usage catching largemouth bass in weedy cover without any breakage problems. Packaging includes an informative booklet illustrating a variety of knots that work with braid line in an assortment of applications.
