Marker ink inside lasts longer than the felt tip if using on rough hard surfaces. I use for work writing on steel and metal or harder similar surfaces. Felt tip wears down to flush before the “ink” runs out. Either way, better than using actual paint markers unless it’s a black surface. Still, I’d rather use these any day over paint markers for my specific application.

I use these thick dark markers to blacken out pertinent info. on mail before getting rid of it. They work great, I don’t need to keep shredding, they last pretty long & I don’t mind continued use.
